This is a great way to help out a low-level friend, since the opponents don’t scale up.ĭuring battles, you’ll be limited to only the first three Temtem in your squad. Once you get connected, you’ll be locked into the lower-level character’s story and exploration options. Menus and dialogue seem to prevent co-op sessions from starting and give you an error saying your friend is busy You need to be physically close in-game - inside the same building, even - to start a co-op party. If you still have trouble connecting, make sure neither of you are in menus or even talking to anyone in-game. You don’t have to be able to see each other - you can be in different instances of the game - but you do have to be in the same location. ![]() In our experience, we had to be inside the same building before a session would succeed. You’ll see an error letting you know your friend is not near enough if you’re too far apart. To start a co-op session, you’ll need to be close to your friend in the game. Once they accept it, they’ll appear in your Friends list. A request will appear in their Notification menu. The icon in the bottom right that looks like a plus sign and a peg-like meeple will add them as your friend. Once you’ve picked someone - either from the Interact list or by searching - click on their name to open another menu for multiplayer options. Once you find another player, you’ll have choices to battle, trade, or play co-op. Just type their in-game name in the TamerSearch, and they’ll pop up in the list. The third icon, Friends, is where you’ll search for your friends by name. If you’re looking to make new friends, this is where to start. This seems limited to players who are physically close to you in the game. The first icon, Interact, lets you view other players near you.
